Principal's Message

Dear Philadelphia Families, Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Philadelphia Elementary! It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I extend a warm welcome to our returning families and a special greeting to those of you who are new to our school community.

Our school-wide theme for this year is "Together We Grow: Celebrating Diversity, Learning, and Kindness." This theme reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected. We believe that by embracing our differences and working together, we can achieve great things and foster a strong sense of community.

Our commitment this year is to meet the diverse needs of our students, increase parent involvement through participation in committees and family events, and reinforce our school-wide expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. We understand that each student is unique, and we are dedicated to providing the necessary resources and support to ensure that every child succeeds.

At Philadelphia, we are incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful connection between home, school, and community. This is crucial to the success of our students, and we encourage you to take an active role in our school community. There will be numerous opportunities for you to participate, including joining committees, attending family events, and volunteering in various capacities. Your engagement and support are vital in helping us create a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Student class lists will be posted on August 12th at 5:00 P.M. in front of the school office. You will be able to see your child’s teacher assignment and classroom number. The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 13, 2024. School begins at 8:05 A.M. Please ensure that your student arrives on campus promptly. Attendance is crucial, and we strongly encourage all of our scholars to maintain excellent attendance. If your child will be having breakfast on campus, breakfast service begins at 7:30 A.M. Breakfast and provided to all students free of cost through our Food and Nutrition Services department. The schedule for the first week of school for 1st – 5th grade is as follows:

  • Tuesday - Thursday, August 16 - August 15 (8:05 A.M. – 1:26 P.M.)
  • Friday, August 16, 2024 (9:00 A.M. – 1:26 P.M.)

Starting Monday, August 19, 2024 (8:05 A.M. – 2:26 P.M. for 1st - 3rd grades and 8:05 a.m. – 2:55 p.m. for 4th & 5th grades) except Wednesdays (Dismissal at 1:26 p.m. on all Wednesdays for 1st -5th Grade). The schedule for the first week of school for TK and Kindergarten is as follows:

  • Monday - Thursday, August 12 - August 15 (8:05 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
  • Friday, August 16, 2024 (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)

We look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and celebration. Together, we will make this school year a memorable and successful one for all of our students.
